Dear Gail,
I decided to post your terrible, Story on my Blog. I feel so bad and then today when you described how long you went for medical treatment. Ouch you are definitely one tuff Harley Girl.
"I hope your kids waited on you hand and foot."
Hope your riding your Harley Soon, the Weather is getting really nice, I guess you could ride with Wade a time or Two.
First e-mail from Gail;
I'm finally home for a while...i broke my wrist and had to have surgery...big time bummer. i had a compacted fracture and they put in a plate with screws and pins. i fell off Wade's peterbilt on my way to visit the kids...so much for being helpful with the windshield washing! it is healing good, but I'm missing out on cycle rides. at least it was my left wrist.
Second e-mail after I asked her what happened;
I felt so sorry for myself yesterday when Wade and Todd rode off without me! They went to the rally at West World in Scottsdale. But then I thought of others way worse off than myself and got busy doing my rehab exercises! I cannot quite make a fist yet, but I'm working on it. The way my wrist broke was a bad break as it completely severed the wrist from the arm and shoved it up into it. So it was compacted and impacted. At least it wasn't compounded..I'm always trying to see the glass as half full...lol. It happened in Valentine, NE while hauling combines for the harvester Wade works for. I went along because the route took us through Sioux Falls, SD and I would get to spend 10 days with my kids that live there. I was trying to get out but keep my dog from bolting from the truck....he wasn't used to riding yet. I was on the top step and hanging on with my left hand and just let go to grab the dog. It all happened fast. I fell on the cement fuel pad and heard the crack, then felt it! We had to drive on to Jamestown, ND to drop off combine for trade-in...then continued to Sioux Falls. I got to the ER about 28 hrs from the time it happened. I wasn't about to get Wade off his schedule so I lied and told him it was just a bad jam...he knew the truth but there really was no choice but to get to a good hospital. So we made it...and it all worked out. Of course, no insurance...so I had to get Wade drunk last night to show him the bill....it's just money and nothing to be worried about. Just deal with it.
Talk Soon Love Ya ! ! ! ! !
